Away Jinx Ends And Winning Spree Begins ...

At last, we get to see the real deal. My wish to see us at the top four for Christmas has come true. In style too! What more can we ask when we are winning, not with one nil score lines but threes and fours! 5 clean sheets in a row in the EPL shows that although most of us are very critical about the defense this season, they've found the remedy to it and I hope it continues all the way. Double thumbs up to the Bull Breed Bellamy. What an awesome display he has been putting up for the past few games. The court case probably was a tough time he had to go through and that was the reason behind the bad patch he had before this. His goals were superb and I truly enjoyed watching him and our Dutch Master combining as if they played together for a few seasons now.

The other one, The Great Stevie G, has found his true form too. Probably Rafa has found the right position to play Gerrard. We could see him coming through the middle and splitting the opposition defense all the time. He even had time to decide if he should pass or try a shot at goal, which indeed hit the back on the net against Charlton. The positioning of Gerrard has been a major reason for the 11 goals scored in the last 3 EPL games. Maybe a SWP for the right wing should complete this midfield! But Chelsea will not let him go for cheap if they indeed decided to let him do so. I think 10 million pounds should be a good price to pay for SWP.

The current generation are the few lucky ones who got to see Carragher score. It happens as frequent as Jackie Chan acts in love stories! This is a sign that the lady luck has began to smile on us now.

I was hoping that we don't get an easy draw for the CL on Friday. But I didn't expect for us to meet the giants Barca. I thought that a Madrid draw would have been good enough to make sure we won't be over confident. But Barca! Jesus Saves! That is gonna be hell of a game worth being the finals. Although I always had a soft spot for Barca, (I always felt that they were the Liverpool of the Spanish League as they were always humble) but this time around, I gotta put my emtions aside and go all out to hope that my Dearest Liverpool wins in style. Good to know that Momo Sissoko will be back in time for this game. He'll take care of The Magician @ Ronaldinho. With Harry Kewell coming back (I hope) by then, we'll have a fancyful squad to play against the CL holders.

We'll see if we beat Watford with a big margin to confirm that we are indeed back with a G Force which will last us till the end of the season!

My prediction: We kick Arse-ho-null's ass tommorow in the Carling Cup and beat Watford 3 nil. Bellamy, Kuyt & Gerrard the scorers!

S for Superman? No, S for Steven Gerrard!

Once again, a disappointing performance from a large chunk of players. Only a few decided to take the responsibility to try and win us this game vs. Man City. One of them, unsuprisingly, Stevie G!And the ever alert Kuyt decided to capitalise on City's defensive mistake and Stevie G made no mistakes from outside the box!

Thank God Reina has not been clumsy of late or we would start losing even the home games. We have been robbed indeed with the absence of Momo is the middle of the park. His presence would have allowed Gerrard to play a more attacking role. But the goal vs. City is gonna bring back his confidence and become the most feared engine room captain once again! The way he celebrated made me feel like catching a flight to Liverpool and hugging him and scream in joy!

With Pompey, Wigan and Fulham coming up, wins against all three would bring us up to the top four and probably take advantage of those who have been dropping points of late. At least by Xmas, we'll be in a comfortable position as the January transfer window opens. I'm praying real hard that we get a couple of fantastic midfielders, if possible, one play maker (like Zola in his prime) and a rock solid central defender to have the variety in that area.

I still feel that 3rd or 4th is not impossible for us to achieve by the end of the season but, we gotta start winning, even if it is those one nil scrapped results.

Leave it all to the Almighty! He'll bring us there!

Hope I'll be able to celebrate Christmas this year with a wide smile and be very able to face those Chelskis and Mancs fans during this festive period!

Am I In A Yoyo World?!

After the heavy criticism (coming from me,a Liverpoolholic, I consider the previous post heavy), I saw Boro being outclassed but not fully! Well we couldn't score a single goal in that game. Ball possession at one part of the game was 80% Liverpool and 20% Boro. Damn ... what's with us not scoring goals! Any other team with that kind of display would have scored at least 3 to 4 goals! Another disappointing weekend for me and many others out there. That's one reason I didn't bring myself to blog about the match. I would have drained my energy trying to figure out if "it is the salt that is lacking or is the currypowder". I've gone to that extent now comparing daily life to football management!

Now, Coming to the CL game vs. PSV, that was a championship contender display! Looking at the understanding of Kuyt - Gerrard in the fisrt goal and Kuyt - Crouch in the second, I feel this team is going somewhere far. But does this only apply to games played on our Home Ground! Why can't they take it to the opposition's ground?!

We play like champions in one game and in the very next game we can transform and make ourselfs look like a relegation zone team!

With Man. City coming up this weekend, I'm in full of hope, as usual, that we'll play a good game and WIN the game with at least 2 goals margin. Hopefully, my heart doesn't sink after the first 15 minutes because that is when you'd begin to know the most probable outcome of the game! My prediction 3 - 1 to My Liverpool (note that we are playing in Anfield!) Scorers being Kuyt (this guy is gonna be a BIG star for us) and Crouchie (2 goals).

My selection of first 11. Reina, Carragher, Hyypia, Agger, Riise, Pennant, Gerrard, Alonso, Garcia, Kuyt & Crouch!

Back To The Square One!

What a horrific display did we see at the weekend by the Kops! My goodness .... I think only 3 or 4 were interested in fighting for a win. Gerrard, Kuyt, Crouch and Rafa himself.

I seriously don't blame RB or his selection, but I think the team lacked fire and enthusiasm to fight for what they wanted ... which was a win, I guess!
Don't know what the hell was Bollocks Zenden doing. I wish LFC would loan him to Swindon Town or something. He couldn't kick a ball! And Gonzales, my oh my ... he spent most of his time on the field giving the ball away.

The "Away Sickness" has not been cured. This in mind, I'm very much afraid of what the coming weekend holds for us against Boro.

This team is relying too much on Momo and I am hoping he'd be back faster than expected! We need him urgently. He's become the Makalele of LFC! Without him, there's a huge gap in the engine room and there's no one to win the ball for us besides Stevie.

At this point of time, I really wished we hadn't let Didi go. He could have been a great plus point to the team.

I don't think the Arse played well. They played a normal game and yet we couldn't shoot them down. I've been just moarning since Monday morning and am still not over it yet!

Come to think of it, it is the same team that got us into the next stage of CL with 2 games to spare and brought us into the Quarterfinals of the Carling Cup! They can perform really well at home but what is the stumbling block when it comes to Away matches, I don't know. I wonder if God knows!

Now all that we can hope for is that we grab a three pointer against Boro and end our away jinx! I hope and pray that God Almighty will guide us towards the end of this Travelling Sickness!

Dutch Master Will Bring The Glory Days Back To Anfield!

After years and years of finding a replacement for the likes of Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler, I think we have found the right one to bring those goals for us. The finishing for both goals were not superb but the instinct was so so good, especially for the second goal. Not many strikers could have put that second goal in given the split second and position Kuyt was in at that time. He reminded me, not of the great strikers like Alan Shearer or Romario, but very much of the hard working and life giving strikers like Keegan and Rush. These players play with their heart and soul but their skills are not that great. Kuyt has the character that is needed in a winning team.

Just when I asked if there'll come a day when I could actually say that MY TEAM played superbly, Liverpool gave all their fans a chance to say that in back to back wins! Reading did not make it easy for Liverpool, mind you! They played well and I respect them for the kind of football they've been playing so far.

The team has shown so much improvement after the trip to Old Trafford and I'm on top of the world. So are the other Anfield faithfuls out there!

The key was Gerrard playing in the middle of the park and Crouch - Kuyt combination. Give them another month or so and we'll be seeing magicians in our team. Crouchie is not the man we saw at the beginning when he started his career with Liverpool. Guess he's been training real hard lately. Sometimes, we sit and wonder why did Rafa buy him or Kuyt but I guess he's got way better vision than us. We couldn't see their potential but Rafa could. And that is what makes me feel confident that this team will move towards the right direction under Rafa's Rafalution!

Am waiting eagerly for the next game against Arsenal. It's good that our manager is a man with minimal emotions as Arsene Wenger doesn't like managers celebrating when their team scores. What a whiner he is! I saw that West Ham - Arsenal game and even I shouted as if Liverpool had won the CL in a penalty shoot out. It was played with so much of feeling and intensity! How could you expect that poor Pardew guy not to celebrate after all the sticks he and his team has been getting lately! And that sore loser had to shove the guy because of that. Come on .... That goal would have woken up a even a dead man!

Anyway, hats off to West Ham for the kind of display the put up last weekend!

Hope and pray that Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the guardian angels will be on Liverpool's side when we take on the Gunners.

Liverpool 4 life!

Are We Back To Our Best Form?!

With all the hype about Liverpool "Back With A Bang!" and all, I seriously am still not convinced 100%. Will history repeat again ... I mean, would we see an inconsistent Liverpool display again, or are we gonna get the wonderful display we saw during the first half of the Villa game? Are we really back with a bang yet?

Reading have already shown the big guns that they can put up a good fight. Although the Gunners did show them their place with the 4 - 0 hammering, Chelsea and Man U had a tough time handling this minnows. Steve Coppell has done a good job to have them sitting at the 10th place of the table.

Just hope that we get a favorable result, in other words, a convincing win and close the gap on the top 2. I hope that Mr. Rafa sticks to the first 11 he had for the couple of games earlier and let them gel.

Can't wait for the January transfer window to open. We still need a good central defender and a play maker (will Ronaldinho join us?). Perhaps a big name striker would make Liverpool an almost completed team. The jigsaw should be completed by the time the next season begins, I sincerely hope. We'll give Chelski a run for their money! (no offense Chelski fans ... we wanna just as good as your team if not better!)

Rafa All The Way!

After a 100 games, the man finally finds his perfect first 11. All the Liverpool fans out there would have been jumping in joy since the final whistle of the CL match this morning. I, too, have been waiting for this moment for a long long time.

Just after the Man. Utd. game, I was asking myself, when will all the Anfield faithfuls be able to throw our hands in the air and be so happy that Liverpool played awesome footie! Well, God heard that I think, because the first half of the Villa game was the best football I've ever seen from the Kops after a long time. The second half was good but I think Carra and Sami are abit slow to react nowadays unlike the previous season where Carra all by himself could hold the defense. Well, maybe time will heal and bring both these fellas back to their best.

This morning, against Bordeaux, the Kops have once again shown why they are one of the favourites to win the CL this season. Should they have played like this against ManU, we wouldn't have been humiliated the way we were a forthnite ago. God I hope they continue their winning spree and show the rest that we can play fancyful football and are winners! Premiership, I think is abit too much to ask for, this season but then again, nothing is impossible. But with Chelski and Man U's current form, it would be a task almost impossible.

Let's all Anfield Faithfuls hope and pray that Rafa and the rest of the boys play their heart out till the end. At least next season, we'll get the respect this Legendary Club should be getting.
